Chris Goode's _The History of Airports: Selected texts for performance 1995-2009_ will be launched at a special event this Sunday, November 29th, at Stoke Newington International Airport. The event will feature readings from the book by collaborators past and present (and, hopefully, future); followed by a screening of Johan Grimonprez's extraordinary documentary _dial H-I-S-T-O-R-Y_, which continues the airport theme by attempting a sort of political history of the second half of the twentieth century through its international airjacking incidents.
The readers / performers for the event will be: Harry Gilonis, Chris Goode, Sebastien Lawson, Jonny Liron, Tom Lyall, Finlay Robertson, Theron U. Schmidt, Rajni Shah, Davina Silver and Jamie Wood.
The reading starts at 8pm (doors 7.30) and costs just £5. (LEAN UPSTREAM season ticket holders are very cordially reminded that this event is not covered by their season tickets. Sorry.) Free wine, up to a point; once that runs out, BYOB.

(((One could thus sprint from Birkbeck west-ish along Store Street, across the Tott. Court Road and straight on until you meet Charlotte Street, left into same, straight along down Rathbone Place, to the Wheatsheaf, a mock-Tudor jobbie on the left halfway down that short street, with its own road entry and catch most, possibly all, of the first half.)))
The second half - approx. 9:00-9:45 - will include Harry Gilonis and Carol Watts; and Niall McDevitt singing his own settings of Dylan Thomas poems.
As far as I know both events are free. Wheatsheaf beer commended.
